pickleball

The inaugural “Get Out of the Kitchen” pickleball fundraiser will be held Sunday, April 28, directly in front of Webster Groves High School on Selma Avenue.

The tournament, sponsored by the Webster Groves High School Parents’ Club, runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with exact times for teams to be announced before the event.

The tournament will happen rain or shine, moving into the gymnasium if necessary. Registration deadline for the tournament is Thursday, April 18. The cost is $50 per individual, or $100 for a two-person team.

There will be a learn-to-play session with professional instruction and some monitored play.  Teams will play against other teams in their round robin group and, if they qualify, move on to a championship playoff.  There will be awards and prizes for winners.

The tournament is for all skill levels and participants are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and a cooler and have fun. There will be music and prizes. The Webster Groves High School Pickleball Club is running light concessions with all food profit going to the club.

Each team will receive a $25 gift card to “get out of the kitchen” and eat at a local restaurant.

Major sponsors include Big Bend Orthodontics, Llywelyn’s Pub, Uncle Pappy’s Honey and D&H Truck Repair. Organizers are still looking for more sponsors. To register, visit wghsparentsclub.org.
