Downtown Kirkwood will be the site of three spring activities on Saturday, April 20. 

Kirkwood Coffee Klatch

Downtown Kirkwood’s inaugural Kirkwood Coffee Klatch will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This new, ticketed event will include coffee and/or breakfast bites or coffee-themed items at participating businesses. Proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish of Missouri and the Kansas Foundation’s efforts to grant the wishes of critically ill children.

Tickets for the Kirkwood Coffee Klatch are $20 and are available at downtownkirkwood.com

Attendees will receive a commemorative coffee cup, a map of Coffee Klatch stops for coffee and food, an opportunity to win a Downtown Kirkwood prize basket filled with $25 gift certificates. 

Four Hands Beer Run

Also on the morning of April 20 is the second annual Four Hands Beer Run that begins at 7:30 a.m. from the future Four Hands location at 150 W. Argonne Drive. The race will start and finish in front of what will become Four Hands’ new beer garden, which was formerly Down By The Station. Upon finishing, racers will be able to sample beer. Kirkwood Arbor Day April 20

Finally, the annual Kirkwood Arbor Day celebration will be held on East Argonne Drive in the Kirkwood Farmers’ Market Greenway from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Free and open to the public, activities include a Kentucky Coffee tree planting demonstration, residential tree plantings, and information from experts regarding tree planting and care and related topics. 

Live music will add to the events celebration. Sadie Hawkins Day will perform in the Kirkwood Farmers’ Market Greenway from 10 a.m. to noon. Mike Mattingly will perform in Ken Connor Park from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Raffles to benefit Make-A-Wish children will also be conducted in the park at East Argonne Drive and North Kirkwood Road.
